Welcome

Seeking help in the form of therapy takes courage. I view my role in therapy as embarking on a journey with my clients towards greater life fulfillment, improved quality in their relationships and in overall functioning. Therapy is a process and the means by which it is provided are what’s important. My therapeutic style is eclectic, as I tailor my work and interventions to be specific to the needs of each client. I focus on identifying and building upon one’s strengths, as well as helping individuals repair stuck points in their lives, examine hidden/shadow parts and heal and integrate parts of themselves that no longer serve the protective functions they may have served in earlier years. My hope is to provide a safe and supportive environment, within the framework of the therapeutic relationship, to do the work that is needed to achieve what is desired from treatment.

Specific topics I address with clients include working to adapt negative behavior patterns that are repetitive and at times have a compulsive/addictive quality; learning to cope with depression, anxiety, panic attacks and phobias; working through trauma and integrating the impact on who you are today; inner child work; processing feelings of grief and loss; mindfulness strategies to learn stress management and relaxation skills; adjusting through life transitions; eating disorders and body image issues; infertility; self-esteem; therapy with children going through a divorce, an out-of-home placement like foster care, experiencing abuse or neglect causing problems with attachment, adoption, social/peer issues and school/family issues; parenting issues and recovery from addiction.
