About Me

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, both from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. I have worked in the Human Services field for 20 years. My early career focused on working with individuals struggling with addiction and dually diagnosed issues. In this capacity, I specialized in women's issues, trauma work, teens with addiction issues, children of addicts and family therapy. I have been in private practice for 7 years and have expanded my areas of expertise.

Currently I treat children, adolescents and young adults struggling with emotional/behavioral issues, school issues, social/peer issues, life adjustment issues and family issues. I work with adult men and women, dealing with addiction issues, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, recovery from trauma, facing death and end-of-life, spiritual/existential concerns and parenting/family issues. I provide couples and marital therapy, looking at how unresolved conflicts from the families we grew up in, continue to repeat in our current relationship dynamics and how to work with one's partner to repair and heal these, in order to attain greater satisfaction in the relationship.

My passion lies in helping individuals re-connect with themselves, to further their growth and development and to become empowered to restore balance and direction in their lives. I am deeply commited to helping children reach healthy development and to learn positive living skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives. I value the relationship between couples and families and strive to help each party in the relationship reach fulfillment as well as communicate more effectively and end dysfunctional behavioral patters and cycles that are no longer useful and may be destructive.
