About Me

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, both from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. I have worked in the Human Services field for 30 years. My early career focused on working with individuals struggling with addiction and dual diagnosis. In this capacity, I specialized in women's issues, trauma work, teens with addiction issues, children of addicts and family therapy. I have been in private practice for 13 years. My practice has expanded to include Perinatal and Postpartum mental health issues for women.

I currently treat adolescents and young adults struggling with emotional/behavioral issues, school issues, social/peer issues, life adjustment issues and family issues. I work with adult men and women, dealing with addiction issues, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, recovery from trauma, facing death and end-of-life, spiritual/existential concerns and parenting/family issues. I have a specialization in working with couples using The Developmental Model. This model teaches couples the concepts of differentiation and teaches communication skills that allow for more vulnerability, understanding of oneself and your partner and how to work through conflict more effectively.

My passion lies in helping individuals re-connect with themselves, to further their growth and development and to become empowered to restore balance and direction in their lives. I value the relationship between couples and families and strive to help each party in the relationship reach fulfillment, as well as communicate more effectively and end dysfunctional behavioral patterns and cycles that are no longer useful and may be destructive.
